1. Classical v Shaabi-Versatile Combos- five useful combinations-do them oriental style and then do them shaabi style.
2 Shaabi chic- shaabi for performance- ideas and technique to get some Cairo street style and attitude into your shaabi performance.
3.Dancers toolbox-make use of moves you already know to extend your dance vocabulary
4. Sing and dance along with Candi? Dancers Arabic-words and phrases to listen out for,gestures you can use to help you look like you know what you are doing. Sing and dance along to a popular Egyptian song. (no solo singing involved and it doesn't matter if you can't sing!!)
5. Chucking your weight about-using weight shifts to improve your movement and to develop variations on moves you are already using. This technique will really help you to get the Egyptian look into your dancing.
6. The art of doing nothing-do less be more effective-learn the power of the pause and the pose.
7. Have a go atShamadan- I have Shamadan and sagat available to borrow. This workshop can accomodate up to 20 people (depending on hall size)Includes a framework of the traditional dance so you can make the dance your own, some floorwork ideas and how to choose your shamadan and make it work for you.
8. Demystify the magency- learn how to tackle the big opening number successfully. Often feared by dancers but a magency is a great choice for a solo at any level. How to build your dance, choose your music and shine. (veils needed)
9. Demystify baladi- go step by step through a typical baladi progression. Learn how to tackle it, perform it and bring your personality to it.
10. Birthday Belly o gram! -All things for the birthday performance. How to sing Happy Birthday to you in Arabic.Learn a fun and showy choreography framework to the popular song Inzal ya gamil by Walid Tawfik. More than just a choreography this workshop also looks in detail at performance technique, good presentation and showperson ship!
11.Shimmies with everything-exactly as the title says lots of shimmies and then what to put on top of them and then add accents
12. Presentation- dance and look beautiful. Charm your audience with your poise, confidence, presentaion and personality or just feel good about yourself.-This workshop requires a room with mirrors.
13.Restaurant dancing 101-the complete a-z of restaurant dancing. from how to craft your show to how to work your audience.
14. Swinging sagat and zinging zills.Get your finger cymbals out of the bag and start to play them.
